I Need an Exercise Buddy

You might ask, how come there's no current pictures of me on my blog? Well, not only because I'm taking the pictures but I've got excess baggage still to unload! I gained 48 lbs with Steven and have only lost 28 lbs. You would think I'd loose more considering I carry him all the time and nurse him ... but I also eat like a horse still so there! It's terrible! Even with the little I do by swinging him in my arms (trying to work my obliques) hurt! I am so out of shape! I tell you ... you mothers-to-be out there, make sure you eat healthy 'cause you'll pay for it later if you don't. Look at me. I'm taking high blood pressure medication now and also anemic. Probably some other stuff I haven't been tested for!

So I need an exercise buddy. I can't do it myself. I suppose I can wrestle with Dave again with judo ... that's on the list. Right now I need to get on the move. Anyone out there willing to work out with me? I'll have excuses like: I can't wake up that early in the morning, it's too hot to walk, what do I do with the kids, etc. Help! Any suggestions or solutions out there? Any infomercials out there you'd like to try and need a buddy? ---Thanks.

Ward Picnic at the Park

This evening was our ward's social activity ... picnic at the park (the church provided the food and eateryware, while the members brought pies to share). I had a headache but I really wanted to get to know more people in the ward so I took the kids and we went. Later, Dave met us there ... hooray! That was a pleasant surprise.

We ate, mingled, and played. It was a good wholesome family activity. As you can see from Sophia's smile, it was fun too!

T-Ball ... Go A's!!

Late spring I asked David what sport he'd like to play in the summer. He said soccer. I looked and found one but it started in the winter. Out of the ones I found available in the summer, T-ball I thought suited him. I asked if he'd like to try it and after awhile, he said OK. So I signed him up. Practices are every Monday and Friday evenings and games every Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Dave's at work at that time so it's been and it'll be FUN taking the kids myself. Not a soccer mom yet ... but a T-ball mom!

Today was the first game (David's team the A's played the Padres). The kids were so cute ... running the wrong way, everyone at the same time going after the ball, etc. No score keeping done. It was merely for experience and fun ... and so goal accomplished! --Great job son!

Dave called off work so he would be able to see David play his first game. What an awesome Dad!

Practice #1: Their team did not have a coach yet so a staff member filled in. They worked on throwing and catching the ball and field positions.

Kidspace Children's Museum

Yesterday my in-laws (Mom Bertha, Tish, and Monica) decided to give me a break from the kids so they took David and Sophia to the museum (http://www.kidspacemuseum.org/) along with Lizzy. They had so much fun. What a wonderful treat and special memories spent.

I stayed home with Steven and managed to get a few things done. Thanks for the mini vacation ...though I must admit, I did miss the kids.

I Miss My Students

Finally, here's the picture I mentioned about here. Look at them, they're darlings! It's no wonder I miss them so. It was an extra joy to come to church knowing I'd be surrounded by them ... oh.

I'm looking forward to getting more involved in church activities at my new ward now that I can move better. I need to get to know the people so that I won't feel so invisible. Little David feels similarly. Lately he doesn't want to go to Primary class and cries to stay with me. I'm surprised because he was fine before. He's the same at kindergarten. The first week he was fine then the second week he cried. Well, in due time we will become fixtures in our new surroundings and be the ones who knows everyone.

P.S. Sophia is not liking her nursery class without me, so you can imagine what a handful I go through at church ... all three kids in the foyer, in nursery, or in Relief Society (don't want to even try them in Sunday school!). Aaahhhh!!!

Sophia's Star Trek Audition

My Sophia gave herself a big bump (ran into a corner wall) on the forehead this morning. Seriously, the first time I saw it, I gasped! Right out of Star Trek alien look! She gave one of those silent pause then wailed a cry but quickly bounced back. She's a tough gal!

David Starts Kindergarten

Change of plans! We received an approvable for transfer to a closer kindergarten school for David two days before it was to start! I worked fast to make sure he got enrolled. Yesterday was the "first" day of school ... it was more like an orientation because the parents stayed with their kid the entire time.

David had been excited about starting kindergarten but was very disappointed about the change of school because he was looking forward to going to school with his pre-school friend, Matthew. But, he did alright at orientation and already made himself known to his teacher (she must have told him to turn around 3-4 times!). Anyway, today he was on his own and he did fine. He didn't cry and I did fine too. Wow! My boy's a kindergartner!

Boy! What a chore to pick-up David ... lugging Sophia & Steven across the street but that cute smile (although it may look like he's crying) made it worthwhile.
