Still A Boy

Got another ultrasound today and confirmed that my baby's still a boy! Unfortunately, the lady couldn't get a good picture of him, so she took one of his feet!

English Park Picnic and a Visit to Uncle Joey's

My mom was off work for President's Day so we planned for a picnic at English Park in Chino Hills. My parents, my sister and her boys, and me and the kids were able to come. The weather was pleasant and we all had a good time. We enjoyed a potluck lunch, feeding the ducks, a stroll, and playing in the playground (not pictured, I was too tired to join the kids and forgot to give them the camera).

Since we were in town, the kids and I visited my brother, their Uncle Joey. By that time Sophia fell asleep in the car, so she ended up sleeping through our brief visit. There we hung out and played in the front yard. The kid's Aunt Tricia and cousin Tia wasn't there at the time. --We were about to leave when Aunt Tricia showed up so we were able to just say hello and goodbye. David enjoyed his visit with his cousins and especially getting birthday money from Uncle Joey!

Happy Valentine's Day

Just wanted to take this time to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day. Know that I love you.

Of course, I'd also like to take this time to express my deep love for my husband. I'm yours always my Mahal.

Our Day with Auntie Tish

Today the kids and I spent a fun day with my sister-in-law, Auntie Tish. We went to Rancho Cucamonga where we had lunch at Islamorada Fish Company and looked around the Bass Pro Shops. Afterwards we headed to Victoria Gardens where we had ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery (not pictured) and rode on the "train". We closed the day by chilling at Auntie Tish's pad where we played piano, colored, and had more fun spenting time together.

Picnic at the Park

Did something out of the ordinary today. It's been awhile since we've had a picnic at the park. We usually go when Dave is off work but it was a nice day out today and I wasn't up for cooking lunch so I asked Dave if we'd have take out and have lunch at the park before he set off to work.

We had a nice family time. The kids enjoy the stroll with Daddy around the park while Mama finished her meal and cleaned up.

Yesterday the family spent the day remembering my brother-in-law, Uncle Jesse, as many of us have come to call him. At the viewing I got a chance to see him one more time and he looked young and peaceful. I missed the chapel service since I had to pick David up from pre-school but I heard that it went well. On our way to the interment the kids fell asleep so I stayed in the car with them. I did hear the firing of the guns (Uncle Jesse was a veteran) and when the kids finally woke, the ceremony had just ended.

Privately I was thinking of him. I was remembering how I had just spoken with him about a week before his passing. We talked on the phone for over half an hour. He spoke mostly of his want to go home (he was in the hospital at the time since Christmas night) and be with his wife. How he wanted to be around the fire place snuggled with her. He spoke of many adventures he wanted to do more with her like fishing. He just ached to be with her in the home setting. He missed his own bed. I listened and wished for his wished to come true. At the close of our conversation, I wished him well and told him that we love him and he said that he love us also.

I kick myself for not calling him again. I would have liked to have talked to him again.

For the brief time I got to know him, I admired him. I saw how happy he and my sister-in-law was together. I certainly will miss you Uncle Jesse ... until we meet again ...
