Impossible!

From the sunday paper... I think you Moms & Dads out there might get a kick out of this...
Dave & I did. Luckily Sophia isn't this bad but the pain sure is real. Nursing seems to work for her. She's a tough cookie. We've got teething rings, towels, & tablets too. Her second tooth is peeking & I see signs of her upper ones coming. Wow! Can you believe it? She's almost 9mos already. It just seems like a week ago that I asked my friend Chanel to watch David while I went to the doctors to confirm the positive pregnancy test I took. What joy filled my heart when my doctor said, "Congratulations!...". Truly a blessing. My pleading prayers, answered. My heart full. Our family blossoming! Heavenly Father is awesome!!! I thank Him everyday for my sweet family miracle. My Sophia Perla, my Book of Mormon blessing (because I believe she was one of my blessings that followed after reading the entire Book of Mormon as the prophet urged just months before she was conceived). Another is the confirmation that I belonged to a church that centers on Christ's teachings and members who truly tries to live up to those principles daily in their lives. I am happy to know that life was great, is great, and will be great in the name of Jesus Christ. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a true church and I know that because I prayed to Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost confirmed it to me. Know that I love you all. These words I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

POTPOURRI vol. 2

TRANSFORMERS in BATMAN out!

I am Batman-ed out! So what is Mom to do? Why, bribe of course. So, I had Dave convert David's toddler bed to a full size bed to get him excited about getting new Transformers sheets. Then, set up "My Goal Chart" (practice alphabets, brush his teeth, saying prayers, put toys away, eat meat) and with enough stickers he gets Transformers Flypapers for his wall. So far so good.

My little climber!!David's first purchase. He was so excited! Oh my, learning to shop already!

VICTORIA GARDENS in Rancho Cucamonga:

Pose with Grandpa. That's where I get my smile!!

Parent's 40th Wedding Anniversary

My 3 siblings & I threw our parents a surprise 40th wedding anniversary & we pulled it off! I had told them that I had been called to work that Saturday & so I dropped off my kids to them. Then my sister told them that she got a coupon for a free portrait so she asked them to be dressed that afternoon & have their picture taken with the grandkids. Of course, I was at my sister's setting up & there wasn't a portrait date. They were so surprised that even when we yelled surprise it didn't register for what (afterall, the party was a few days before their actual anniversary). Anyway, many of the family was able to join the celebration. We had lechon (roast pig) & several filipino dishes. We all had a great time! My parents were very happy.

I made & decorated the cake. Not too shabby, eh?

Wasn't I suppose to have an apple in my mouth? Is this a Filipino thing? (FYI: no!)

"Which camera?"
Grandkids present at the celebration: (clockwise starting far left) Blake, Leno, Tia, Kaelyn, David, Ryan with Sophia on his lap.

My brother's boys in the Philippines: Calvin & Craig
"We love you this much, Lolo & Lola"

Finally a Blogger!

Here I am! Exposed to the internet world (so please keep this blog to yourself, by invitation only!). Big step and much to learn about this but I wanted a place where family and friends can go for updates and such. I'll probably back track little later but for now here's David and Sophia (my leading stars of this blog) on one of our occasional evening strolls for fresh air. Bike riding is a big step for David. He's not the daring type, but this bike (one of many!) with training wheels seem to work for him (thanks Aunt Del). Oh, my Sophia is precious too! Very curious and active. Now in her teething phase. She's got one tooth and another on its way. --More later. You will definitely get to know my two darlings!
