Steven's 1yo portrait

This took awhile! Steven turned one year old on the 9th of last month (this was taken little over 3weeks ago) ... better late than never! Of course, this is the first plain pose before the other embellished ones. I held off on them because I wanted one with the three kids together (I only took Steven that day). Anyway, having the kids' picture done is on my ever-ending list of things to do!! But, even plain, Steven's still a cutie pie. :0)

Anti Monkey Butt Powder

I saw this add last week and it CRACKED me up!! -- Am I the only one that didn't know about this? I meant to go to the store to check it out in person but I didn't get around to it.
HILARIOUS! What a funny gag gift this would make. -- Note, if I give you one, I didn't get it for $0.99 since the sale is over. Hahaha...

Water fun

Summer equals playing in the water so the kids have been doing that everyday! If not in the pool, they're running through the water sprinklers. Ya gotta love water!

I'm remembering Michael Jackson

It finally hit me. Michael Jackson is dead. I had not planned on watching his memorial today but I found myself doing so and grateful. I suppose I was in some sort of shock induced denial. I didn’t put myself in a situation where I would hear more news or listen to his music. I know now why. He did have an influence on me. There is something captivating in his music. I grew up in it. The loss is great and now I’m feeling it with the world. I sob instantly when I hear his music. I am taken aback, recalling my years past and how his music moved me then and now. I remember dancing to his music in grade school for a talent show. I remember swooning over him during my early teenage years. I remember as a newly aunt rocking my baby nephew to his song. I remember his song being my graduating high school song. I remember feeling his bond to unite the world and make it a better place. I remember those kind of fond memories and more. His children has fond memories too and so I ache for them above all. God bless you little ones!

I love you Michael Jackson and thank you for your music. Rest in peace.

My makeshift dryer

My dryer is on the fritz. Bells and whistles work and even spins, but no heat! Got a repairman to take a look at it and estimated a repair cost of $360. Of course, the parts need to be ordered and will take 2-4 days to arrive. That's not going to fly for the couple of loads already waiting to be dried and stinkin' quite terribly! So, I asked Dave to make me a clothes line while I re-wash the clothes.
Viola! 1st load
Can you imagine what my Caucasian neighbors would say if they saw this? "Oh, those Mexicans! What are they up to now?"
I'd say, just making good use of these hot sunny days! That's the silver lining. :)

P.S. If you squint, you'll see Steven way in the back sitting on the grass under the shade.
P.S.S. My neighbors are old, retired, white, pasty professionals who I adore dearly! I'm just making light that we're the only ones in our neighborhood who have a tan and so can be considered the eccentric ones.
