Taking back Thanksgiving

When you have a big family there's going to be holiday hopping. Several years ago, I managed to take Thanksgiving as my holiday for extended family to come over. Then when Sophia was born on Thanksgiving month, I wasn't able to do it and so the holiday got away from me. This year, I took it back! Of course, other situations have since occurred so this year only my parents and my mother-in-law were able to make it. It was cozy but wonderful none-the-less. On the menu was the traditional ... turkey, ham, stuffing, mash potato and gravy, cranberry sauce, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and not so traditional ... rice, corn on the cob, asparagus, bolillo bread, and sweet potato french fries (meant for the kids but it didn't fool them! those boogers!!). A very tasty feast if I do say so myself! Maybe next year I'll get my big dining set back and have more family over. Let's see!
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!

My little birthday girl

Three years ago today (more, if you count from conception!) my dream of having a little girl came true. Yes, my Sophia is 3 years old today. What a blessing she is! I love her bunches!! Anyway, we threw her a birthday bash in her honor. Many family were able to attend. My brother Neil was able to extend his vacation so it was a special treat to have him and his family there. Like many other family gatherings, we had fun and enjoyed each other's company. Oh, she did have a special birthday dress but she wanted something much less frilly. Yes, she fights putting on a dress every Sunday for church, though once on she's fine; but today is her day so whatever she wants goes!!

(I don't like this horoscope thing, but I don't know how to get rid of it!!)

Sophia enjoyed her special day ... first by birthday wishes from her church Nursery and Primary friends then with family at home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PRETTY GIRL!!

LOVE ALWAYS,
DADDY, MAMA, KUYA, AND BABY STEVEN
**By the way, she's in the front page of our local newspaper ... check it out!

Halloween fun

It was an eventful Halloween this year. Halloween eve the kids and I (Dave was at work) went to "trunk-or-treat" at church afterwhich chili, corn bread, and dessert were served for dinner. Then on Halloween, the kids and I went to a birthday party. After a couple of hours there we went back home to meet Dave and off we all went to my brother Jo's for all the little cousins to trick-or-treat together. As you can imagine, there were lots of candy but I got lucky and the kids are pretty picky with what they'll eat so they didn't get too wild with sugar high. They were just thrilled to see so much candy in their bags!
