Ya had to be there

*David screaming from the bathroom, “Mommmm!”
I run to the bathroom to find David bathing in the tub and he said, “Look Mama, my toto (penis) is floating!”

*Grandma: “Your daddy is a party pooper.”
Sophia: “Daddy likes party but he’s not a pooper!”

*Me: “What is Mike?” (wanting to know his nationality)
David: “He’s a human being.”

*Me: “Sophia, do you want to help me cook?”
Sophia: “Yes, Mommy I want to help you cook. I’m a great cooker!”

*David: “Do you know what’s between a squid and a monkey?”
Me: “No.”
David: “A swangkey!”

*Sophia: “I’m scared of the bunny rabbits”
Dave: “Why?”
Sophia: “The bunny rabbits are going to go inside my house and take my toys!”

*Me: “Are you done, Sissy?”
Sophia: “I’m not Sissy, I’m Sophia!”

*Wiggling while I’m putting on her Pull-up … Me: “You’re gulu gulu.”
Sophia: “I’m not gulu gulu. Daddy said I’m a pretty girl.”

*One night, I got emotional watching Sophia and Steven as they slept. I was in silent tears with immense gratitude to Heavenly Father for them … and then, Steven farted!

Happy birthday, Calvin!

My brother Neil and his family are here visiting from the Philippines. It's been 8 years since I've seen Neil and this is the first time I've met his wife and boys in person! I'm so thrilled!! It's been long overdue! Anyway, this past Saturday we got together to celebrate his eldest boy Calvin's 7th year birthday. It was the first time that all 9 little cousins (my and my siblings' kids) got together ... precious! My parents and other relatives were also able to attend. We had a great time! Full of fun!!

Happy face

I yell at my kids ... mess here, mess there. But, that's what they do. At times, I shake it off. Other times, I lose it. Lately, Sophia discovered a solution to calm me. She'll tell me, "Mama, I want to see your happy face". I could be mad as heck, but what can I do but smile and sure enough, my once fire red hot face is turned ice cold! --My Sophia is awesome!!!

Daddy's surprise

Yesterday after running an errand, Dave came home with a surprise for the kids. He got them each a pumpkin. The kids were thrilled! While I was in the house mopping the floors, Dave and the kids set out to turn the pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns. David was so excited once they were done and came inside to invite me to see their work of art. Here they are with their pumpkin.

Out of your mind!

It's a shame that people allow themselves to get drunk! You put yourself in a position to be out of your mind! Do and say things you wouldn't do sober. Before you know it, you cause people pain and anguish. Families get torn apart, damage done, lives lost, ... it's a mess!

One might say, "I'm a social drinker and I can control myself.". More power to you but don't be surprise if it ends up getting you! One here, becomes two, then three, then ten! Then you may have put yourself in a pickle that you will regret and may not be able to reconcile.

It's a shame ... because it's avoidable!

Daddy time at the park

The kids love spending time with their Daddy. This day is no exception! Here we (David at school) had a picnic lunch (catered by Del Taco), fed the ducks, and played in the playground. Dave works hard and always busy but most of that busy time is spent with his family. What an awesome dad ... and husband to boot!!

My spiritual blog

I have been striving diligently to better myself and have been making goals as a tool to accomplish that. The complete list is written in my journal. I will tell you of two significant ones. One, I made back on the third week of August when I renewed my temple recommend; I set a goal to go to the temple once-a-week and have only missed one thus far. The second, I made a few days ago and started it into action yesterday; setting a goal to do scriptures study for at least 15 minutes each day. Then, as I was watching the morning session of General Conference yesterday, the idea of blogging about my scripture study came to mind. My mind began to be exceedingly full of ideas of the process that it overwhelmed me! I finally reached a simplified program and so came the birth of my spiritual blog. Yeay! You are certainly welcome to visit and see my progress of transforming my weakness of scripture reading to becoming my strength. I look forward to my quest to be a better person for the sake of my family. I look forward to the day that I am sealed to my husband and children. May God bless me in this journey. These I pray in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.

FYI: You can find the link to my spiritual blog at the side bar under "About me" titled "My other blog" for future reference.
